I have tried every diet available to man or so it seems. I have found that as I have gotten older it is easier to diet and lose weight as long as I keep MOVING. I think that exercise is good for us in so many ways. It reduces stress. It keeps us away from the fridge. It is good for our bodies. It makes us feel happy. It gets us out of a rut. It burns up calories.
I often ask myself, if it is so great, why do I have such a hard time doing it? I can always come up with thousands of excuses why not to do it. I am tired. It is too hot. I have a TV show to watch. I am meeting up with some friends. I do not want to pack up my gym bag. It is too late. The procrastination continues and I am not getting any fitter.
I know that exercise is a must. Exercise has helped me keep my weight off. It helps me maintain my weight too. The best part of exercise is that it can be as simple as walking. It is really cheap too. I recommend that you buy a good pair of walking sneakers and a good pedometer and off you go. I strive to do 10,000 steps per day or 70,000 steps per week. I try to do 30 minutes of exercise per day.
When I am not maintaining and I am trying to lose some more weight, I must kick it up a notch. I enjoy biking, tennis, dancing, Zumba and racquetball. The key to success is to exercise and keep moving. Decide what exercises you enjoy and begin!
What exercise(s) make you happy? Which exercise(s) can you do right now?
