Is It Me or Is the FOOD Talking?

You are doing well on your diet.  You feel good.  You just ate your meal.  You have had most of your liquid and then it hits.  It appears like the food is beginning to talk to you.  You look in the kitchen cabinets, the fridge…all of a sudden you feel hungry.  You want something to eat. 

     You start looking, but you cannot decide if you want something salty, sweet, sour… At this point, you go crazy.  You lose control.  You begin trying different foods.  Nothing seems to be just right.  You know why?  Because you are not really hungry. 

    Something is eating you!  Are you angry?  Tired?  Sick?  Lonely?  Whatever it is, it is making you think that you need FOOD, but you do not! 

    Trick yourself into finding something else to do.  I usually make myself a hot Chai tea, then I do my nails.  Sometimes, I begin to read.  Other times, I answer emails.  Go for a drive !  Watch a movie.  Take a nap!

     The food is not talking to you.  It is our brains.  Our brains are incredible!  Stay on track.  Stay motivated!  Do not give up, but if you slip…Remember that you can start right back again!  Good luck!
