
Which do we do exercise or procrastinate? We all know that exercise is good for us. Everybody knows that we must exercise to stay healthy and fit! If this is true, why are so many of us getting so fat and out of shape?
We PROCRASTINATE! We choose to do everything else, but exercise. We clean. We shop. We cook. We help our friends. We read and the list goes on and on. At times, life happens. We have many good reasons that do change our plans. We have an illness, an unplanned trip, a tragedy…things do occur. The difference between us and “them” is that we happily take advantage of these incidents.
My husband Mo is one of “them”! He works out six days a week no matter what. He packs his workout clothes before anything else when going on a trip. Even after a car accident and surgery; he could not wait to start the physical therapy portion of his rehabilitation.
Amy is another one of those people in the “them” group. She comes for a visit and no matter what, she does her daily run. She too packs her gym clothes first. For them, exercise is a part of their life and psyche. We need to follow their lead.
As I have mentioned before, we MUST choose exercises that we are passionate about. My friend Marlene has just given me Zumba DVDs. I could not wait to get started. I had been procrastinating, but give me something that I truly enjoy and away I go.
The key to our success is to decide which form(s) of exercise we enjoy doing and begin. We must write it down just like an appointment or a date. It has to be written so that we can see it as a vital part of our day.
Are you important? Are you worthy? Do you want to get healthy? Stop procrastinating! Begin to take your steps towards a healthy and happy life.
